Honors “outing” to virtual Civic Saturday

March 28, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Honors students creating community while participating in MLK Day of Service

THIS Saturday, March 28!

Get together with new and old friends this weekend at a special, expanded Virtual Civic Saturday “outing” UW Honors!

Recent UW Honors graduate and Citizen U youth program coordinator, Laurette Hanna, invites you to a special event that builds our sense of community, love, and civic engagement.

Let’s bond and boost our sense of possibility with this free, virtual Honors cultural outing to VIRTUAL Civic Saturday, which will livestream this Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon. This event series was designed by Honors professor and Citizen U founder, Eric Liu as a civic analogue to church: a gathering of friends and strangers in a common place to nurture a spirit of shared purpose.

Ways to connect through this event (roommates, friends and family are welcome, too!)

  1. Twenty minutes before Civic Saturday (10:40) Grab your coffee and pre-func in the Honors Community Zoom room w/Laurette Hanna to learn a bit about Citizen U, the idea behind Civic Saturday, and to introduce ourselves!
  2. At around 11, connect to the Civic Saturday event pagehttps://youtu.be/FpU54u5RtQA
  3. Reconnect right after the event using the same Zoom room as our pre-func. Civic Saturday often sparks questions and ideas that are great to discuss in community.
