Intiman presents “The Race 2020” – Honors night

October 2, 2020 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Cultural outings are different in the midst of a pandemic, but building community, exploring local arts, and participating in civic life is more important than ever!

Whether you’re new to Honors, returning from a summer break, or tuning in as an alum, we hope you’ll join us for the online October 2nd performance of Intiman Theater’s “The Race 2020.

If you can’t make it on October 2 but are curious about this experience, we encourage you to get tickets to another performance. To make our post-show discussion as inclusive as possible, we will host it after the last performance based on feedback from YOU!

How to attend:

  1. Reserve your FREE ticket through the Intiman website, HERE.
  2. Send an email forcarey@uw.edu after the show. We will follow up to schedule a Zoom reception for folks who attended.

About the show

From September 25th – October 4th, the Intiman Emerging Artist Program: Alumni Edition cohort (IEAP) will share their work with the public in a series of online, interactive presentations of Sojourn Theatre’s The Race 2020. Tickets are now available and are Free for Everyone!

The show will engage the community in a civic dialogue to inspire voter registration and action just in time for the presidential elections. We are partnering with The Washington Bus who will provide voter information and support during these presentations. It is a participatory, highly improvised exploration of what America wants in a leader during a time of change. The presentation is directed by Shermona Mitchell and Marc Weinblatt.

Audiences are encouraged but not required to participate during the presentation, and no two shows will be the same!
