AT CAPACITY: Chinatown Discovery tour w/Velma Veloria!

December 7, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Honors Community Scholar Velma Veloria invites you on a trip to the ID’s Wing Luke Museum for the Chinatown Discovery tour, followed by an optional group lunch in an International District gem.

Saturday, Dec. 7, 10am-11:20am (tour), optional lunch 11:30-12:45 (times are approximate)

Discover the traditions, spirit, and soul of the Chinatown-International District with a guide from the Wing-Luke Museum of the Asian Pacific Experience. Tour the history and many cultural contributions of Seattle’s past and present Chinatown-International District neighborhood and its inhabitants with Velma Veloria. Velma was Washington’s first Asian-American woman to be a state legislator and continues to be a leader in the Filipino community and in the fight to eradicate human trafficking.

Tickets to the tour (normally $20) will also gain you admission to the Wing Luke Museum and are FREE thanks to gifts to the Honors Program Fund. It’s a quick and easy trip from campus to Chinatown Station via light rail.
Let us know when you RSVP if you’ll have time to stay in the ID for a post-tour lunch at one of the neighborhood’s family-owned restaurants. The first 15 students to RSVP are guaranteed a spot on the tour!
