Thank you for considering supervising an Honors student’s Grad Credit proposal during your course. If you are unfamiliar with Honors Graduate-level Credit, please review the Honors Graduate-level coursework webpage. Please note that Honors Graduate Credit should not alter a student’s grade in your course; this allows the student to receive an “Elective” category for their Honors curriculum.
Our commitment to providing a diverse, flexible, and in depth education is not possible without your commitment to working with our students. We greatly appreciate your time and energy, and recognize the effort you will contribute to this Graduate-level coursework and to the student’s experience.
By agreeing to oversee an Honors Grad Credit coursework, the instructor agrees to:
- Submit an initial online approval of the Grad Credit proposal confirming your understanding that the student is planning on completing your course’s graduate level coursework (due by the quarterly deadline listed on the Honors Program webpage).
- Provide a good learning and working environment for the student.
- Communicate regularly with the student.
- Evaluate the student’s Grad Credit proposal upon completion and submit final online approval/denial for the Honors notation, verifying that the student completed the graduate level coursework.
The student is agreeing to:
- Take the initiative on the overall Graduate Credit proposal, including initial contact and communicating with the instructor, especially regarding any changes or difficulties.
- Manage the application and approval process with the instructor and the Honors Program.
- Complete the agreed-on coursework during the quarter in which the student is enrolled in the course.
- Respect the learning objectives and expectations of the course and the Honors Program.
