Frances McCue Wins Book Award
The Honors Program is proud to announce that our very own Writer in Residence, Frances McCue, was award the Washington State Book Award. McCue's book of poetry, The Bled (Factory Hollow Press), was among seven other books written by Washington residents to be chosen this year. She was also a finalist in the nonfiction/history category for her book The Car That Brought You Here Still Runs.
In the past, McCue has taught popular Honors classes such as "Writing Marrakesh" and "Teaching What We Know." This quarter she will be teaching "What We Know & How We Know It" to a group of incoming freshmen. Active and accomplished professors like McCue are an enormous part of what make the Honors Program a great learning opportunity, and we are lucky to have them!
