About me: Hey Dawgs!! I'm Jiya, a first-year student intending on studying Bioengineering! I'm interested in serving community needs through using engineering and advocacy to address health and educational inequities. In my free time, I like to learn new things: right now I'm learning how to use a pottery wheel! I am part of a few clubs on campus, including Bioengineers without Borders, UW Makers, and Music for a Cause. From building my electrical engineering knowledge to getting back into playing music, I've had so many great experiences and learning opportunities through the student-led groups here at UW. I am also involved in research within the Bioengineering Department and am a volunteer at UW Riverways Education Partnerships and the UW Food Pantry. I'm a Honors Peer Facilitator for the 2026-27 school year, and can't wait to meet new honors huskies this fall! If you'd like to learn more about navigating honors + STEM courseload, exploring extracurricular opportunities on campus, or the first year experience, feel free to reach out! I'd love to chat :))
