H A&S 253A: HIV/AIDS: Issues and Challenges

Credits: 5
This course will provide an overview of virological, epidemiological, behavioral, medical, and psycho-social issues in regards to the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Both national (US) and international perspectives will be presented. At the end of the course, students will be required to synthesize a research area, and write a paper (25 pages) in regards to an issue that they choose. In addition, a summary of the research area in a Powerpoint presentation will be required to be presented to students in class. Topics chosen must be approved by course directors, Drs. Kasprzyk and Montano.
