LaShawnDa Pittman Book Launch

Join LaShawnDa Pittman for a book launch to celebrate her bookGrandmothering While Black: A Twenty-First Century Story of Love, Coercion, and Survival. This book explores the lives of Black grandmothers raising their grandchildren in skipped-generation households and the struggles they face while maneuvering around legal and social barriers. Dr. Pittman is an Associate Professor of American Ethnic studies and has recently been awarded the Hanauer Professorship.

The first half of the event will be dedicated to a discussion about the book, including a Q & A with the author and a book signing. Be sure to RSVP for the second half of the event, the reception, to make sure there is enough snacks to go around!
