Honors Grads 2020/2021
Proudest Moment: Completing and presenting my undergraduate thesis for the History Honors Program after nearly a year of research and writing.
Thesis: Desolation Dirtbags: A History of Rock Climbing in the Cascade Range, 1960s-1970s
henrydavidzing@gmail.comWith a strong personal interest in rock climbing and ski mountaineering, I focused my undergraduate thesis for the History Honors Program on the evolution of rock climbing in the Cascade Range in the 1960s and 1970s. While attending the UW I worked as a writer for the UW's Daily, and spent my last two quarters writing a bi-weekly series exploring the history of music in the greater Seattle area. I become a member of the UW NROTC program during my first-year year, completed Officer Candidate School during the summer of 2020, and recently commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. I will be beginning The Basics School in Quantico, VA in June.
