Who are Honors Champions?

  1. Alumni, parents, professors, students, staff and friends of the Honors Program who…
  2. Participated in panels, celebrations, advised on special initiatives, supported curricular innovations and community funds, established new scholarships, and/or demonstrated care for Honors students and our broader community in some other way.

What’s the commitment?

Honors Champions receive a (monthly-ish), direct message with opportunities for a broader, deeper view of Honors connections. You may leave the group and/or pause communications at any time.

There is no minimum required level of participation at this time, but here are a few examples of how Honors Champions show up:

Founders of Honors Leadership Fund – Distinguished Alum – Anniversary Ambassadors – Advocates

Bobbe and Jon are among the first official Honors Huskies, though technically Bobbe was first to graduate! Bobbe served as Chair of the Honors Program Advisory Board from 2015 – 2019, leading several volunteer initiatives to generate sustained programmatic support. Both Bridges continue to lend advice, advocate for expansion to a UW Honors College, and to celebrate with our community at Honors’ annual graduation event.

Jayna graduated in X with a degree in X. She shared her zine “Ravenna” with the Honors community and encouraged engagement with local environmental treasures…extending lessons from her course with Professor Tim Billo to the next generation of Honors Huskies.

Apply to be an Honors Champion

It’s not hard to become an Honors Champion, but it is important to our community that you feel a true affinity for Honors’ mission, vision and values. Each Honors Champion has the opportunity to share questions and to imagine how they might like to participate before joining our team.

email uwhonors@uw.edu with the subject “Honors Champion” to start the process.
