Leah Ceccarelli (Communication)
Leah Ceccarelli, Professor, Department of Communication, is a scholar of rhetoric whose research focuses on interdisciplinary and public discourse about science. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in American Public Address, Rhetorical Criticism, Rhetoric of Science, and the Public Communication of Science. She directs the UW Science, Technology, and Society Studies Graduate Certificate program. She serves on the editorial boards of several journals, and co-edits a book series sponsored by the Rhetoric Society of America and Penn State University Press on "Transdisciplinary Rhetoric." She is a Fellow of the Rhetoric Society of America and a recipient of the National Communication Association's Douglas W. Ehninger Rhetorical Scholar award for her career of research, and has received awards for her two academic books and for two of her most significant scholarly articles.
