Proudest Moment: My proudest moment was probably getting into the Husky 100. Actually, the nomination meant more to me than the selection because it felt really rewarding to be recognized by a professor I looked up to!
angie.l.lai@outlook.comHi! I'm Angie and I consider myself to be a generalist with a passion for environmental and climate justice. My Capstone Research Project looks at promising practices for the federal government in prioritizing sovereignty for federally recognized Tribes, Nations, and Confederacies in climate adaptation.
In my time at UW, I've met a lot of amazing people and have had some incredible experiences. I've been a Campus Sustainability Fund Outreach Ambassador, College of the Environment Student Ambassador, Teaching Assistant, and intern with the US EPA Region 10. I was also in the pre-law fraternity Phi Alpha Delta, which helped me decide that I wanted to pursue a JD to practice environmental law and/or policy. I want to help us move toward a better future by making the big changes we desperately need. Outside of academics, I have a wide taste in movies, shows, music, food, and art!
After graduation, I'll be doing a year of service with AmeriCorps as a College Coach in Philly. After that, law school (hopefully)!
