Proudest Moment: I received a note from a student who met with me in Peer Wellness Coaching and they thanked me for my help in their journey to self-compassion. It was a simple, beautiful, and unexpected instance of gratitude.
anna.dong98@gmail.comLearning, growth, change, and challenge are all priceless gifts that I have been abundantly given in the past four years. My professors, friends, supervisors, and colleagues facilitated so many of those moments of uncertainty, and often frustration. It was certainly a challenge to excel academically while still enjoying the process of integrating into higher education and the real-world. I was also able to practice community stewardship as a Peer Health Educator and, recently, a Peer Wellness Coach. In both of those roles, I was able to sow my knowledge and passion for well-being and mindfulness in the university community, a privilege I hope to never take for granted. One lesson, of many, that I will take away from my undergraduate career is that the past and future are simply in our minds but it is the present, which is right in front of us, that we have influence on. I leave UW impassioned to be a part in creating a more loving, caring world, in whatever arena and career I may land in.
