Proudest Moment: My proudest moment at UW was being elected Chapter President of my sorority, Alpha Omicron Pi. I believe the person I am now, bold, confident, outspoken, was always somewhere inside of me. But becoming the AOII Chapter President gave me the opportunity to see it for myself and show everyone else the person I was always capable of being.
Thesis: The Continued Importance of American Prison Literature: A Brief Exploration of Writings from Incarcerated Black Men
The past four years have been characterized by growth and personal development. I struggled to adjust my first-year year, and was forced to reflect on where I wanted to be three years later: pursuing my dream of becoming a lawyer. Since that moment, I have put every ounce of myself into setting these dreams in motion. During my time at the University of Washington, I have interned with Chelan-Douglas County Volunteer Attorney Services, Washington State Employment Security Department, Washington Pro Bono Council, PNW Anti-Defamation League, served as the Student Support Committee Chairman for the UW College of Education, volunteered with Family Law CASA of King County, been a member of Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity, and served as the Chapter President of Alpha Omicron Pi.
I am so proud of everything I have accomplished in the last four years, and am excited for the next chapter of my life. This fall I will be attending the University of Oregon School of Law to pursue a J.D. with specializations in family law and child advocacy!
