bettyshang1998@gmail.comI'm an international student from China. I started my journey at UW - Seattle as an undergrad 4 years ago and before long, I fell in love with the city. At UW, I've been able to widely explore my academic interests. For many years, I've been fascinated by the human mind and drawn to topics around psychopathology. Therefore, after taking courses in psychology and some other fields, I became clearer about my true passion and decided to major in psychology.
In my junior year, I joined our departmental honors program and there, I got to dive into my interest topic in psychology and hone my research skills. I've felt very lucky to work in Dr. Katherine Foster's PEARL lab, where I've learned so much, and received tremendous help, support and inspiration, and collaborated with extremely talented people and researchers in this field.
During my time at UW, I've met life-changing people, taken mind-blowing, enlightening, and challenging courses in various fields. I'm grateful for all my experiences and the amazing people I met in the past 4 years for they've shaped me into a better person, and provided me with valuable perspectives. I've learned a lot from every experience I had, and I've become braver to take on challenges and pursue my goals in the future.
