Proudest Moment: Receiving a Library Research Award for a paper I wrote, inspired by my time at the Washington State Senate. Also… working for the Washington State Senate!
My time at UW has been transformative academically, socially, and personally. These three years have been rife with opportunities for growth and challenge. Some highlights were studying abroad in Berlin, working at Leschi Elementary School, my job as a writing tutor and director of a support program for multilingual writers at the Odegaard Writing and Research Center, joining the UW climbing team, working for Washington State Senator Patty Kuderer, taking a class alongside prisoners in Monroe, throwing concerts at my house (called the Pink Castle), and embarking on a nine-day backpacking trip/“environmental science class” in Olympic National Park. At UW I have become an avid skier, an enthusiastic rock climber, a road bike novice, and a pie baker extraordinaire. UW has instilled in me a passion for equity, inclusion, and sustainability. In the coming years, I hope to pursue environmental law or policy in order to equitably and thoughtfully address climate change’s urgencies. But first I’ll be taking a year off to ski bum in Montana.
