Proudest Moment: Watching the Huskies beat WSU in the Apple Cup during all of my years here--fulfillment of a childhood dream!
kellycrebs@gmail.comHello! I'm Kelly, and as you might be able to tell from my biology major, I love science and exploring the great outdoors. I was born and raised here in western Washington, and in my free time I enjoy hiking with my family, playing with my two dogs, and reading. My family loves to tease me that many of my other hobbies make me seem like an old lady, especially the fact that I crochet and typically listen to music released no later than 40 years ago. During the pandemic, I also discovered a love for classic and arthouse film, which I play to continue exploring as I leave UW and pursue a career in biomedical research. In my time here, I was lucky enough to explore the diversity of scientific career options through internships in a microbiology/immunology-focused research lab and at the citizen science seabird monitoring program COASST. I was also fortunate to serve as Vice President of Internal Communications of UW's Crohn's and Colitis Club during my junior and senior years. Moving forward, I plan to take at least one year to work in my field and then consider continuing my education in graduate school. Wherever the wind blows next, I am very grateful for the opportunities that UW has afforded me and for the support of my family and friends. Go Dawgs!
