Proudest Moment: Seizing opportunities available. A microcosm of the greater world, the UW community composes of a diverse group of people exploring a wide variety of majors. Pushing the boundaries of what I was familiar with, I went outside my academic interests to work on collaborative campus wide projects. From Dream Project to Svoboda Diaries, I know I made the most of my college journey.
Thesis: Blood Logs: Factors in the U.S. Decision to Classify the Japanese Biochemical Warfare Program
My research interest focuses on American foreign policy in postwar Europe and East Asia. I'm fascinated with how public memory and nationalism shapes identity, especially how the legacy of the Japanese Empire continues to endure in Asia.
Aside from depressing historical research, my outside activities include editing articles for the UW Journal of Microbiology, researching trade routes in the Ottoman Empire, coordinating volunteer work in the Evergreen School District, and serving as a teaching assistant for the College of Education.
