Honors Grads 2020/2021
Proudest Moment: I can’t say the proudest moment but my proudest quarter is spring 2019. I participated in the Women in Applied Math Mentorship(WAMM) program, applied and got accepted to my first research project, offered positions as a grader and a tutor in the math department.
Thesis: Some Applications of Fourier Analysis and Wavelets Analysis
I am a graduate double majoring in Statistics and Applied Computational Math Science(ACMS), with Departmental Honors from ACMS and minors in applied math and math. Born and raised in Chengdu, China, I never thought about studying abroad before high school. UW was not my dream university at first but I feel so fortunate to be here and spent the four memorable years. It has more to explore than meets the eye. I am proud and lucky to get involved in WAMM, WDRP, WXML, and some challenging research projects. I also worked as a cashier at the District Market, a tutor at the Math Study Center, and a grader for the math department. I am incredibly thankful for the people who helped me and offered me opportunities during college, especially Professor Tim Leung, my first research advisor, and Professor Tatiana Toro, my thesis advisor. After graduation, I will pursue my doctoral studies in applied math at Columbia University!
