I am an English / Creative writing graduate with a love for all things literary (my favorite unofficial holiday is Seattle's annual Independent Bookstore Day!) During my time in UW Honors, I have spent two years bonding with classmates over lesson planning and reviewing four-year plans as an Honors Peer Educator, three years collaborating over community events and opportunities for handing out free food as an Honors Community Ambassador, and countless hours chattering away about the benefits of the UW Honors program at prospective student info sessions. My three years in college have also been devoted to proudly proclaiming the most ridiculous responses to writing prompts possible during Writing Club, teaching children of all ages how to punch and kick in my job as a martial arts instructor, slowly but surely learning how to make soup and sheet pan dinners without burning down the kitchen, and advocating with all my heart for the importance of arts and humanities education. Next year I plan to say a heartfelt goodbye to Seattle (for now!) and head east to Emerson College in Boston to pursue my Masters of Fine Arts in Fiction Writing, though I eagerly anticipate the chance to return for potential in-person grad celebrations and the long-awaited opportunity for pictures with the W in my cap and gown.
