No “single stories” in Portraits for Change exhibit

Opening in the Allen Library Atrium on Feb 20, this three-week exhibit of portraits of and stories told by vendors who sell Seattle’s Real Change* Newspaper. The exhibit gives voice to the different narratives associated with homelessness and life on the streets. You are invited to reevaluate your understanding of poverty and homelessness and challenge the negative stereotypes that homeless people face.

The exhibit is presented in partnership by Real Change and the students of Vicky Lawson’s Honors seminar “Citizenship Acts to Challenge Poverty.” Students will lead small groups through the exhibit and share what they have learned over the next few weeks.
