Anna Feit awarded a Fulbright to Brazil

Meet one of the thirteen UW students who received a Fulbright scholarship this year! Anna Emerson Feit, a student in the Interdisciplinary Honors program who majored in Global and Regional Studies with a minor in Portuguese Language and Luso-Brazilian Studies, received an undergraduate study and research scholarship to Brazil. Continue on to read Anna’s plans for her time in Brazil:
“For next year, I accepted a Fulbright grant to go to Belo Horizonte, Brazil, and work with the Jewish Studies Center at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) in their archives. I will also be taking classes in library science and Jewish studies at UFMG. I am most looking forward to gaining valuable experience working with archives and digital information systems as well as bettering my Portuguese and immersing myself in the local culture and community. My research in Brazil and career goals are interdisciplinary in nature, combining library science, Jewish studies, history, linguistics, and more. The Honors program has encouraged me to continue to find creative avenues of collaboration, letting me take classes that explore topics from new angles and engage with students across majors.”
