Dr. O’s Observatory Trip

Last October, Dr. Oliver Fraser, Associate Teaching Professor in Astronomy at the UW and last year’s HETA (Honor’s Excellence in Teaching Award) winner, led a group of Honors students to the UW’s Manastash Ridge Observatory. Dr. Fraser is the director of the UW’s Manastash Ridge Observatory and teaches the science communication course Storytelling in the Sciences for the UW Honors Program (which will also be offered in Autumn 2025!). On the trip, students helped to transport supplies, repaired and replaced any damages, learned how to run a telescope, studied drone photography and more!
