About me: Hi! My name is Clara and I am a junior studying Marine Biology with a Minor in Ecological Restoration. My passion lies in marine restoration, conservation, and ecological monitoring, in addition to scientific communication and accessibility! The Honors program has been one of my favorite parts of my UW experience, and I have had the great pleasure of being an Honors Peer Mentor over the last year. I deeply value the close-knit and inspiring community that the Interdisciplinary Honors Program provides (in addition to the unique classes of course). Outside of Honors, I have had the immense privilege of conducting undergraduate research (please ask me about sea cucumbers or invertebrates), interning at many nonprofits, studying abroad (twice), and working on campus. I also serve on the College of the Environment Student Advisory Council, and Diversity Committee and am on the Board of Directors for Grow Dat Youth Farm, a non-profit sustainable farm in New Orleans (where I am from)! Outside of classes, I love to roller-skate, hike, SCUBA, cook, design stickers, and read a good book. Feel free to reach out if you have questions about the Honors Community, the College of the Environment, or any of my experiences, or just want to say hi, please let me know! :)
