About me: Hi! My name is Ava Michler, and I am a junior majoring in Applied Mathematics Data Science with a minor in Public Policy. I am interested in how the policy-making process can better involve community interests and be data-informed. I joined the Interdisciplinary Honors Program as a second-year student. Honors has been an amazing part of my Husky experience, through making friends and taking courses that are fun, interesting, and relevant. There are also so many ways to get involved on campus and in Seattle! Some opportunities that I have taken part in are leadership roles in the student organization NextGen Civic Leader Corps, working on-campus, interning at King County and a local nonprofit, and studying abroad. Outside of school, I enjoy baking (especially cheesecakes), reading, bouldering, and playing volleyball. Please reach out with any questions about Honors, AMATH or Public Policy, internships, or anything that you want to chat about!
