About me: Hello Honors community! My name is Jaya, and I am a junior double majoring in International Studies and Law, Societies & Justice with a minor in Human Rights. I have been involved with UW honors in a range of ways, including being a peer educator my sophomore year, a peer mentor this year, and I also had the honor of facilitating Global Challenges this past November. My academic interests lie in understanding how legal mechanisms impact communities, and I plan to continue exploring this by pursuing law school after undergrad. I am involved in research in the Jackson School, hold two on-campus jobs, and participate in several extracurriculars. My interests outside of school include reading (lots of James Baldwin), exploring new parts of Seattle, and spending time outside. If you want to chat about the Honors program, pre-law pathways, getting involved with research, or being an out-of-state student, please reach out :)
