Honors Living Learning Community
Looking to live with other Honors students? You’re in luck! The Honors Living Learning Community (LLC) is located in Terry Hall. All University of Washington Honors Program students are eligible to apply to live in this community. Students who choose the Honors Living Learning Community have the ability to create community with one another outside of the classroom through this living environment and various events hosted in the residence hall. The LLC Resident Advisers are Honors students as well, and can act as invaluable resources for navigating the Honors Program and UW more generally!
Learn more about the Honors LLC
Interested students should select “Honors Living Learning Community” in the Living Learning Community Preference portion of the housing application. While Honors students are NOT guaranteed placement in the Honors Living Learning Community, students who want to live in the LLC are given first priority if they meet all other HFS deadlines and requirements. Once the housing application is available to incoming first-year (see HFS website for exact date ), submit your housing application by the Priority 1 Deadline to maximize your chance of placement in your preferred option.
- If requesting a specific roommate, they should also select the Honors Living Learning Community. Discrepancy in preferences or application submission time between roommates could result in you not being placed in this community.
- The First-year Housing Application will be available early May on the Housing & Food Services website – see the HFS website for exact dates.

Frequently Asked Questions about Honors Housing
Why should I choose to live in the Honors Living Learning Community?
The primary benefit of the Honors floors in Terry Hall is their dynamic social and intellectual community. Honors students are a diverse and interesting group and living with peers engaged in rigorous academic pursuits across all disciplines enhances connection to the Honors Program outside of the classroom.
Members of the Honors LLC have opportunities to enrich their living experience through additional events and resources, such as in-house advising, community events or in-house lectures with Honors faculty and staff, and off-campus excursions to events with Honors faculty and staff.
Honors LLC Resident Advisers, as mentioned above, are also Honors students who act as great resources for students to draw on. Like any Honors student, they are engaged and model curiosity and exploration for the students they support in the LLC.
Can I pick my own roommate?
Yes! You and another student can request to be roommates, and HFS will do their best to assign you together. Maximize your chances by selecting all of the same preferences as one another and by submitting your applications by the Priority deadline.
Can I room with a student who is not in the Honors Program?
Yes! If you want to room with a student who is not in the Honors Program, both of you will need to request each other on your respective housing applications, in addition to selecting the Honors LLC in the Living Learning Community Preferences portion. Like any roommate request, these are not guaranteed, but you can maximize your chances by selecting all of the same preferences as one another and by submitting your applications by the Priority deadline.
I filled out the application with Housing and Food Services (HFS) but have not received my assignment, what should I do?
Housing applications are administered and processed by HFS, and you will be contacted during the summer regarding your assignment. Please contact hfsinfo@uw.edu if you believe you should have received your assignment but have not heard back from them.
