Honors peer mentoring commences!
by Shannon Hong
One year after its launch, the Honors Peer Mentoring Program (HPMP) has over 80 mentors and mentees in its Fall 2022 Cohort! At our Opening Ceremony on Tuesday, students got to connect with their matches and learn more about the expectations for our program.

How it all started
Peer Educators, LLC Resident Advisers and Community Ambassadors make up the diverse group of Honors Student Leaders. Although they support our community in unique ways, we needed opportunities for students to build mentoring relationships and connect more meaningfully with each other. To address this, my peers and I launched the HPMP last fall, where we host monthly events and match students on a quarterly basis with upperclassmen who can help guide their UW Honors experience. Augmenting the services of Honors advisers, Peer Mentors help students navigate academics, Honors requirements, campus involvement and more. As we enter our second-year, we are proud to share that we have supported over 100 Interdisciplinary and Departmental Honors students in their mentoring experiences!
Meet our committee

This program wouldn’t be possible without our leadership team! Our committee is divided into Event, Engagement and Marketing Teams but we all work towards the same goal of building community within our cohort.
